Adam McGrath and Steve Fisher are two of the top cyclocross racers in the Northwest, and the mid-twenty-year-olds wield HiFi tubulars for their conquests.
Adam used to travel with the high-profile Maxxis mountain bike team as the team’s mechanic all summer, then would peel off his greasy shop apron and don lycra skin suits and embrocation for Elite cyclocross races, both in the US and Europe. Adam has since transitioned to the hands-on life of a farmer outside of Port Townsend, Washington, but that agrarian life certainly hasn’t slowed him down any.
Steve Fisher is at the top of his game, both on the road and the cyclocross course. Already in 2013 he has become a fixture at the front of Seattle and Oregon ‘cross races — taking wins in the MFG series, a podium at a Cross Crusade and a win at the Rolling Thunder event in Missoula, Montana — and that’s on top of his many successes on the road with the Hagens-Berman elite road team.
Fisher will be joining a pro road team for 2014 — details coming soon on that exciting development — but he’ll continue to fly the HiFi flag for cyclocross.
Adam and Steve have been taking turns authoring a great column for Cyclocross Magazine this year, documenting their season. Here are Adam McGrath’s colums, and Steve Fisher’s Rider Diary from China’s First UCI Cyclocross Race
