For the fourth installment of HiFi TRAX, we head to Victoria, British Columbia where Analog Racing's Mikayla Lynd guides us through a classic loop of the island. Analog Racing is an Elite women's team based in BC, and we're so stoked to continue working with Mikayla and the rest of her squad! Learn more about Analog here.

Each HiFi TRAX comes with a song. For Victoria’s Lands End Peninsula Loop, Mikayla has queued up "Walking on Sunshine." What a great, upbeat choice to inspire us all to saddle up and get out for some springtime ride action!
Victoria’s Lands End Peninsula Loop
by Mikayla Lynd
Canada’s West Coast is home to Vancouver Island, where you'll find Victoria, British Columbia—the province’s capital. Known for its vibrant cycling community, Victoria offers a wide range of routes for every type of rider, from road and gravel to mountain biking and cyclocross. I try to train outdoors year-round, only turning to the trainer when the dark and cold weather really won’t allow for it. With the road racing season approaching, many of my long rides are spent tackling the "Lands End Loop," a local favorite.
This scenic route, which hugs the waterfront, weaves through rolling hills and quiet roads outside the city. In its full stretch, it takes you from Victoria along the coastline to Lands End Road, where you’ll find the ferry terminal at the end of the peninsula. From there, you can challenge yourself with a steady out-and-back climb before returning to downtown Victoria and the harbor. The Lands End Loop is a popular choice for weekend group rides, triathletes seeking long, uninterrupted stretches, and weekend warriors hoping to check off a 100km ride for the season. The route can easily be shortened as needed, or extended for those wanting an extended climb through the Highlands before returning to the city.
No matter where you’re based in Victoria, the Lands End Loop is an easily accessible and scenic ride, making it a beloved staple of the local cycling community.

While almost any bike you have can work, the Lands End loop is best ridden on a road bike. In the winter, one equipped with fenders is probably your best bet; in the summer, your road race bike is the perfect choice to keep this route fast and smooth.
